poolside by the gardens
snuggled in between sheets of
our borrowed four-poster bed
dipping our toes in the bathtub

oh babe, just over a week to go.

oh I'm counting down the days, babe
nothing but us
living carelessly
with no responsibilities
for 120 hours
just you and me babe

time for me to reclaim my sanity.

And thus it beeps -

In 2 days
I leave for Jakarta for a shoot
that's going to take 3 weeks
and there's still so much to churn out at work
new projects
old projects - bah
as much as I'd love for it to be an exciting shoot
that takes us from JKT to Bogor to Bandung
and to my Nan's motherland, Banten
alas, it's going to be a ladidah kinda shoot
and we know two factors already deterring
weather and traffic.

the boy is living the high adventure
in Jelawang
caving, trekking
and enjoying the breathtaking sunrise
at the summit of Gunung Ayam

and I won't be here when he returns
which breaks my heart.

I dunno how those couples do that overseas thing.
kudos to you

anyways
time to go back to scriptwriting
and storyboarding
and what nots.

it isn't so much a secret
that I am a girl of many vices
some of which I am sometime ashamed of
some of which I am completely unremorseful for.

like reading.

"read. feed your brain." - wise words from my old man only to have him regret he ever breathed down those words to me after finding extreme difficulty in getting me to pry whatever I was reading at any moment out of my hands. I would read anything and everything. leaflets, posters, shampoo bottles. and when I got my first set of encyclopedia (brittanica, no less) for my birthday, I swear it was the happiest moment of my childhood. of course there were upgrades in reading material as I grew older and where I am now, I am slowly building up my collection of books that will ultimately be passed down to my children. Not only do I have books chalked up in The Boy's home, there's the collection at home waiting to be reunited with the other.

I can never step into a bookstore and not leave without a purchase. That's why I have been a really good girl. I only bought 4 books this month. To add to the 8 I bought last month which I haven't got down to reading.

Yes I have a problem.
I could potentially be an old grumpy lady who lives in between bookshelves.

Because books don't deceive me.
They don't antagonise me.
And their friendships are everlasting.

and it wasn't long during childhood that I took up another vice:
writing
endless reams of virgin pure paper,
smelling of absolute heaven,
waiting for my 2B pencil to ink its curls and points.

but that's a different story altogether.

I know I'm supposed to be finishing up my script

but

life sure as hell finds the oddest of moments
to suprise you.

we'll see how it goes, eh?

let's get lost in the rain
with nothing but our feet
to take us beyond the fields of green

it's possible
we can be safe in this crazy world.

take my hand
let's go

BBC Documentary - Child Slavery

Around 8.4 million children around the world are enslaved today. Now, in a remarkable journey across three continents, five of them tell their stories. This documentary is presented by reporter Rageh Omaar. The International Labour Organization in 2006, estimated 218 million working children aged between five and 17. If awareness is the first step to reform, then this documentary certainly strikes at our collective and individual conscience as human beings.

Watch it HERE.
